Make your golf cart shine
The weather is warming up and that means vacation travel & golf season is upon us, and you're probably thinking about how to clean your golf cart. You want to keep it looking its best each time you rent your golf cart, but who has time to actually do all of the cleaning? Well, I've got some great news: you can clean a golf cart in less than half an hour!
Be sure the golf cart is off and has cooled down
Before you get started, make sure the golf cart is off and has cooled down. If you don't have time to let it cool down completely, move the golf cart into a shady area. This will ensure the water and soap don't evaporate and leave a residue.
You'll also want to make sure that you have the correct tools for the job. At minimum, these include:
- A bucket or other container large enough for all of your dirty rags (and possibly some extra water)
- A hose with a spray nozzle attached
- Dish Soap
Use an extended handle mop with a long handle
To effectively clean the golf cart, you'll need to use an extended handle mop with an extra long handle. This will allow you to reach all areas of your golf cart without having to get on your hands and knees or climb up onto the vehicle.
The best kind of mops for this job are those made from microfiber material because they are soft enough not to scratch the finish of your vehicle, but strong enough so that they won't fall apart after repeated use in dirty water (which may contain harmful chemicals).
Spray a water-based degreaser onto the wheels, then use a brush to scrub them clean.

- Use a long-handled brush with soft bristles that won't scratch or damage your cart's finish.
- Apply the degreaser in small amounts and scrub it into all areas of each wheel, including around its tires and rims.
Any wheels that are dirty or greasy should be cleaned with a degreaser.
Wash any area that needs cleaning with soapy water and a brush or sponge.
The first step is to wash any area that needs cleaning with soapy water and a brush or sponge. Soap can be made by mixing one part liquid detergent with nine parts water. Rinse the cart with clear water afterward; this will remove any soap residue from the surface of your golf cart and leave it clean for drying.
If necessary, use a degreaser on hard-to-remove dirt spots before moving on to step 2 (see below).
Rinse all surfaces with clear water.
Once you've scrubbed the cart, it's time to rinse it. First, turn on the garden hose and spray down all surfaces with clear water. Use a towel to dry the cart. If you are really pressed for time try using a leaf blower to dry the golf cart. You'll be amazed at how fast you can dry a cart with a leaf blower.
Place a cover on top of the cart to prevent dust from settling on it and to keep it clean between rentals.
A cover is a great tool for keeping dust and debris off your golf cart. It also helps to prevent damage to the vehicle, which can be especially important if you have a custom paint job.
Covering the cart can help keep it clean as well. Golf carts are exposed to harsh weather conditions on a regular basis, so it's important that you take steps to protect against rust or other damage caused by water exposure (or even just rain).
If you follow these steps, you will be able to clean your cart in no time at all!

Conclusion
